I've made a new Treasury on Etsy featuring crafters from the UK (again!)  It seems to be a habit of mine.  I've decided to do this at least once a week and try to give the rest of the world a run for their money...and hopefully spend theirs with us!!!

Crafty Meetup

Next Friday, which is....the 18th June, I think...I'm meeting up with some fellow crafty types at Afflecks in Manchester.  Should be good...and interesting.  We have to take card and a craft knife...intriguing! 

Afflecks is my old stomping ground from my punk days.  I remember when it first opened and it hasn't changed that much to be honest...punk gear, posters, young designers.  The kids don't look that differently to what we did...except we did it first!!!  Ha ha ha!!!

To advertise or not to advertise?

Well, my jewellery sale went rather well...I made enough to pay my garage bill so I don't have to avoid them anymore. Though as the garage is at the end of my street, I can't exactly duck down in the car as I pass...and wearing sun glasses and a hat doesn't work as they still know it's me coz of my wreck of a car! 
I was a tad disappointed that no member of the general public came.  I was stood up good and proper by them.  However, I was visited by lots of people I knew and they were obviously happy to shop with me again...so that's good.  So all the advertising I'd done...banner on main road at venue, invites, ad on work intranet and Rochdale Online, facebook, website, emails etc etc.  It seems to me facebook and word of mouth were the mode of advertising that worked.  So why my rather attractive banner, from vistaprint, didn't draw the crowds I don't know.  Ah well...maybe next time.  In the meantime, I'll be skipping down the road to garage tomorrow morning!!!

Prep for my Jewellery Sale

Just doing all the last minute prep for my jewellery sale tomorrow.  Last week I had "beaders block", but thank God over the weekend I became a one woman production line. Yesterday, I printed off a dozen or so A3 posters featuring my jewellery photos and my web address, which I can put up at the venue.  I wish I had access to an A3 laminator...I'll just have to be careful putting them up and pulling them down.  I now have the unenviable task of pricing everything up and deciding what items can be on special offer.  I just hope people come...I've emailed everyone I know, made an event page on facebook, posted it on my website, given out invite postcards, put on postcards and placed an ad on the council Intranet and Rochdale Online.  I even got one of those banners printed at vistaprint and I hung it in stategic place at my venue overlooking a main road so hopefully it will do the trick.  My brother said he saw it when he went past on the bus...so *fingers crossed*!!!

Jewellery Sale

Jewellery Sale hosted by new-creations jewellery at Open Door, Horse Carrs, Shawclough Road, Rochdale on Friday, 21st May from 5 til 9.
Call in on your way home from work or on your way out!
There will be lots of original, handcrafted jewellery for sale on the night, with an abundance of random discounts!

Art Rumble

Went "rumbling" again toady at the Art Rumble at the Contact Theatre, Oxford Road, Manchester. It's on the last Saturday of every month, but after the next one on the 28th May, there going to have a break for the summer and then going to relaunch in September. It's a bit quiet but could be a great venue for selling Arts and Crafts with the right promotion! Come on Contact Theatre, get your act together!
